FAQs

1 Is it safe to fix a curtain track directly to a bay window ceiling?

In most cases, yes — as long as the correct fixings are used for the ceiling type and the curtain weight is properly supported. Which they are with out tracks. As we supply lots of brackets to distribute the weight.

2 What if my bay ceiling is plasterboard only?

Plasterboard ceilings are a lot stronger than most people think. The plugs we supply work well in 95% of fittings. If you then still feel the track is not as secure as you would like. Then see our page about using toggle bolts.

3 Do I always need to locate the timber battens in the ceiling?

No you don’t and if you drive a screw into the ceiling and hit one it’s a bonus. If you don’t then drill a 6mm hole and use the plugs we supply.

4 What if my curtains are particularly heavy?

You can order extra brackets from the Ezecurtains shop. You may also want to upgrade the ceiling fixings to toggle bolts. we have a page here that shows how this works.
