Heavy Duty Bay Tracks
Heavy duty hardware is rarely needed in most homes.
Our standard bay tracks are designed to comfortably handle the curtains normally used in domestic bay windows. Choosing a heavier track doesn’t automatically make it a better option.
Heavy Duty tracks are intended for unusually large or heavy curtain installations where the additional capacity is genuinely useful. They also require a larger bend radius, which can make them less suitable for some bay windows.
Heavy Duty Hand-Drawn Track
For particularly heavy or interlined curtains where hand-drawn operation is preferred.
- Higher curtain-weight capacity
- Suitable for larger installations
- Simple hand-drawn operation
Heavy Duty Corded Track
For unusually large or heavy curtains where cord-controlled operation is also required.
- Designed for extra-heavy curtains
- Suitable for larger installations
- Cord-controlled operation

Bay Window Curtain Track FAQs
How do I measure my bay window?
You don’t need to work everything out before choosing your track. We provide measuring guidance for the different bay shapes and explain exactly which measurements we need.
What’s the difference between corded and hand-drawn tracks?
Hand-drawn tracks are operated by pulling the curtains themselves. Corded tracks use a pull cord, allowing you to open and close the curtains without handling the fabric.
Will these tracks work with my existing curtains?
Most curtains that hang using curtain hooks are suitable for tracks, including pencil pleat and double or triple pleat headings. Eyelet, tab-top and slot-top curtains aren’t designed to hang from a curtain track.
Do I need a Heavy Duty curtain track?
Usually not. Our standard tracks are suitable for the curtains found in most domestic bay windows. Heavy Duty hardware is intended for unusually large or heavy installations where the extra capacity is genuinely needed.
What happens if I’m unsure about my bay?
Use the Curtain Track Finder if you’re unsure which product to choose. If your bay is unusual or you need more personal advice, you can send photos and explain what you’re trying to achieve.
