Is the Corded Bay Track right for you?
The main difference between this track and our hand-drawn tracks is simply how you operate the curtains. Instead of pulling the curtain fabric, you use the cord controls fitted at the sides.
Cord operated
Open and close your curtains using the side cords rather than repeatedly handling the curtain fabric.
Move one curtain at a time
Each side has its own cord control, so you are only moving one curtain at a time around the bends of the bay.

We shape the bends before delivery using your measurements. There is no bending or cutting to do yourself.

Separate cord controls make the curtains easier to move
Your bay track normally has a separate cord control at each end. One cord operates the curtain from the left and the other operates the curtain from the right.
This means you are only moving one curtain at a time rather than trying to pull a complete pair around several bends.
In the centre, the two pulley units meet together and an overlap arm allows the curtains to close neatly across the middle.
Supplied with child-safety cord tensioners
Cord-operated curtain tracks need to be installed so the cord loops comply with the relevant child-safety requirements.
Your track is supplied with cord tensioners and fitting guidance showing how the controls should be installed safely.
The cord drop is calculated from the fitting height so the bottom of the loop finishes at the required safe position above the floor.
Shaped before it arrives at your home
You are not buying a straight corded track and trying to form the bends yourself. You provide the bay measurements and we shape the track to suit your window before delivery.
That makes fitting considerably simpler and gives the gliders properly formed bends to travel through.

Wall fix or ceiling fix
The Corded Bay Track can be supplied for wall or ceiling fixing. The best option depends on the construction of your bay and where you want your curtains to hang.
Ceiling fix
A straightforward option where you have a suitable ceiling fixing position around the complete bay.
Wall fix
Suitable where there is enough wall space above the windows and you want the track positioned away from the ceiling.
Mixed fixing
Some bays can use ceiling fixing within the bay and wall brackets on the straight returns outside it.

When is cord operation worth having?
You do not need a corded track simply because you have a bay window. For many rooms, a hand-drawn track is perfectly adequate. Cord operation becomes useful when the way you use the curtains makes it worthwhile.

Moving each curtain separately by cord can make everyday opening and closing easier on larger bay windows.
Tall curtains
Cord operation lets you control full-length curtains without repeatedly pulling on the fabric itself.
Delicate fabrics

Does the track have one cord or two?
