How does a Wave curtain track work?
Wave curtains use specially designed gliders that are connected together by a discreet cord inside the track.
As one glider moves, it pulls the next one behind it and keeps the gliders evenly spaced across the track. This creates the regular flowing folds that give Wave curtains their distinctive appearance.

This video uses our Slimline Wave Track, but the Wave system works in the same way on all of our Wave tracks. It shows how the linked gliders create the evenly spaced curtain folds.
60mm or 80mm Wave — what’s the difference?
Both options work in exactly the same way. The difference is mainly the size and appearance of the finished folds.
80mm Wave
Creates wider, deeper and more flowing folds for a softer, more relaxed Wave appearance.
60mm Wave
Creates smaller, tighter folds and a slightly more compact, defined appearance.

There is no right or wrong choice. It mainly comes down to the look you prefer and how much space is available for the curtains when they are open.
Shaped before it arrives at your home
You are not buying a straight track and trying to form the bends yourself. You send us the bay measurements and we shape the track before delivery.
Properly formed bends help the linked Wave gliders travel smoothly around the bay and make fitting considerably easier.

Wall fix or ceiling fix
The Regular Wave Track can be supplied for either. With Wave curtains, positioning is especially important because enough space is needed behind and in front of the track for the folds to form freely.
Ceiling fix
A clean and simple option where there is a suitable fixing surface around the complete bay.
Wall fix with returns
Useful where you want the curtains to return out of the bay and finish back towards the wall.
Mixed fixing
Some bays can use ceiling brackets around the bay with wall brackets on the straight returns where that suits the window better.
Wave curtains need more clearance than ordinary curtains
A Wave curtain hangs directly below the track and folds backwards and forwards as it travels.
Because of this, the track needs to be positioned far enough away from the window, sill, handles and other obstructions for the folds to move freely.

You will need curtains made with Wave heading
This track is designed specifically for Wave curtains. Conventional pencil pleat or pinch pleat curtains will not create the Wave effect simply by being hung on Wave gliders.
Wave heading tape
Your curtains need suitable Wave heading tape so the hooks can be positioned correctly for the linked gliders.
Correct hook spacing
The curtain hooks need to be distributed evenly across the heading so the folds remain balanced from one end of the curtain to the other.

Do I need to bend the track myself?
No. The track is shaped to your bay measurements before we send it.
What creates the Wave effect?
The gliders are connected together at fixed intervals. As the curtains move, those linked gliders keep the folds evenly spaced along the track.
Should I choose 60mm or 80mm Wave?
Choose 80mm for wider, deeper folds or 60mm for a tighter, more compact appearance. Both systems operate in the same way.
Can I use lined or blackout Wave curtains?
Yes. The Regular Wave Track is suitable for the type of lined and blackout Wave curtains normally used in domestic bay windows.
Can I use my existing curtains?
Only if they are suitable for Wave heading. Ordinary pencil pleat, pinch pleat, eyelet or tab-top curtains will not automatically create the Wave effect.
What if I am unsure which Wave track to choose?
The Regular Wave Track is our all-round starting point. If you want a slimmer profile, look at the Slimline Wave Track. If you want cord operation, choose the Corded Wave Track.
