Corded Double Bay Window Curtain Tracks
Two made-to-measure tracks for sheers and main curtains, with cord control for smooth, convenient everyday operation.
A good choice for taller windows, larger curtains or simply when you would rather open and close your main curtains without pulling directly on the fabric.
Is the Corded Double Track right for you?
Choose this system when you want sheers behind your main curtains together with the convenience of opening and closing the main curtains using cords.
Two independent curtain layers
The rear track carries your sheers while the front track carries your main curtains, allowing each layer to work independently.
Cord-operated main curtains
Open and close your main curtains using the control cords rather than pulling directly on the curtain fabric.
Made for your bay
Both tracks are shaped before delivery using your measurements, so there is no bending or cutting to do at home.
How the Corded Double Bay Track works
The system uses two separate tracks. The rear track carries your sheer curtains while the front corded track carries your main curtains.
The tracks are positioned around 10cm apart. This gives the two curtain layers enough room to move without the main curtains dragging or disturbing the sheers behind.
- Rear track for sheer curtains
- Front corded track for main curtains
- Approximately 10cm between the tracks
- Both tracks shaped to your bay
Cord the front track — or cord both tracks
Your main curtain track is cord operated as standard. You can then choose whether the rear sheer track is hand drawn or cord operated as well.
Corded front + hand-drawn rear
A practical choice for most homes. Your main curtains get the convenience of cord control while the sheers behind are simply moved by hand when needed.
Both tracks cord operated
Choose cord control on both tracks if you want to open and close the sheers regularly without handling them.
Which should I choose?
If your sheers normally stay closed for privacy, a hand-drawn rear track is usually all you need. Cord both tracks if you expect to operate both curtain layers regularly.
When cord control is worth having
Cord operation is mainly about making the curtains easier and more convenient to use.
It can be particularly useful with tall curtains, larger bay windows or where you simply prefer not to handle the curtain fabric every time you open and close them.
Each main curtain is operated separately, so you are moving one curtain at a time around the bends rather than trying to move the whole pair together.
Choose how your two curtain layers will hang
The rear sheers normally stay within the bay. Your main curtains can either remain within the bay as well or continue outside it.
Both pairs within the bay
Both tracks finish inside the bay, with the sheers and main curtains hanging and stacking within the window area.
Main curtains return outside
The rear sheer track stays within the bay while the front corded track continues onto straight returns outside the window.
Not sure?
The order process shows the different layouts so you can choose the arrangement that best suits your window and curtains.
Your sheers usually stay within the bay
Sheer or voile curtains normally sit close to the windows on the rear track, giving you privacy while still allowing daylight into the room.
In many homes the sheers stay closed for most of the time and are only opened for cleaning or access to the windows.
That is why a hand-drawn rear track is often perfectly adequate, even when the main curtains are cord operated.
Each main curtain has its own cord control
The two main curtains are operated separately, normally with one cord control positioned at each side of the bay.
At the centre, the two corded track pulleys meet neatly together. Each cord system is self-contained, so there is no cord mechanism to connect across the centre when fitting.
An overlap arm allows the main curtains to close neatly across the centre of the window.
Ceiling fitted within the bay
The two tracks are normally ceiling fitted through the bay. Where the main curtain track continues outside the bay, the straight returns can be wall fixed.
Rear track
Normally ceiling fitted close to the windows for the sheer curtains.
Front track
Ceiling fitted through the bay, with wall-fixed straight returns available where the main curtains continue outside.
10cm spacing
The tracks are positioned approximately 10cm apart so the main curtains can move without dragging against the sheers.
Supplied with cord safety tensioners
Cord-operated curtain tracks need their control cords installed correctly and kept under tension.
The necessary cord tensioners are supplied with the track, together with guidance showing how and where they should be fitted.
If both tracks are cord operated, each cord control has its own safety tensioner.
Suitable for most hook-based curtain headings
The Corded Double Track works with conventional curtains that hang from track gliders using curtain hooks.
Pencil pleat
A practical choice for the rear sheers and suitable for conventional main curtains too.
Pinch pleat
Works particularly well for the main curtains and can also be used on the rear track where appropriate.
Not suitable for eyelets
Eyelet and tab-top curtains are designed to hang from poles rather than curtain track gliders.

This service is fabulous,/strong>
,p>This service is fabulous. It was easy to take the measurements, fill out the order form and put the curtain rail up with the help of the video. I can’t fault the rail, it arrived on time and looks great. It has transformed our living room. Thanks Lee— Lesley M
A few common questions
Do both tracks have to be cord operated?
No. You can have a cord-operated front track with a hand-drawn rear track, or choose cord operation for both tracks.
How far apart are the two tracks?
We normally allow around 10cm between the rear sheer track and the front main curtain track.
Why would I choose cord operation?
It allows you to open and close the curtains without pulling directly on the fabric. This can be particularly useful for tall curtains, larger bays or curtains you would prefer not to handle regularly.
Can the main curtains return outside the bay?
Yes. The rear sheer track can remain within the bay while the front corded track continues onto suitable straight returns.
Are cord safety fittings supplied?
Yes. The necessary cord tensioners are supplied together with guidance for installing the operating cords correctly.
Do I need to bend either track myself?
No. Both tracks are shaped to your bay measurements before delivery.
