The smaller track profile is ideal where you want the curtain track to blend more discreetly into the room.

How the Slimline Wave Track works

Wave curtains use gliders connected together at fixed intervals by a discreet cord inside the track.

As you draw the curtain, each glider pulls the next one behind it. This keeps the folds evenly spaced across the bay and creates the characteristic flowing Wave appearance.

  • 60mm or 80mm spacing
  • Smooth movement around the bends
  • Designed specifically for Wave heading

When the appearance of the track matters

Wave curtains hang directly below the track, which means the track can sometimes remain visible between the curtain folds.

The Slimline profile helps reduce that visual impact. It is particularly effective when ceiling fitted, where the track sits neatly against the ceiling line.

If you simply want a dependable Wave track and the track profile is less important, the Regular Wave Track remains our usual all-round starting point.

Choosing your Wave spacing

60mm or 80mm Wave?

Both systems work in exactly the same way. The difference is mainly the size of the curtain folds and the space they occupy.

80mm Wave

Gives you broader, deeper folds and a softer, more flowing Wave appearance.

60mm Wave

Produces smaller, tighter folds and a more compact finished appearance.

Not sure?

Neither option is better. Your choice mainly comes down to the look you prefer and how much space is available for the curtain folds in your bay.

Made for real bay windows

Shaped before it arrives at your home

You are not buying a straight track and trying to bend it around your window yourself. You provide the measurements and we shape the track to suit your actual bay.

Properly formed bends help the Wave gliders travel smoothly and make the finished installation much easier to achieve.

If your bay is a little awkward, the measuring process takes you through the information we need step by step.

Fixing options

Wall fix or ceiling fix

The Slimline Wave Track can be supplied for either. Ceiling fixing usually gives the cleanest appearance, but the best option ultimately depends on your bay and where the curtains need to hang.

Ceiling fix

Makes the most of the slim track profile and gives a clean, discreet finish against the ceiling.

Wall fix

Suitable where there is adequate wall space and the curtains need to hang further away from the window.

Mixed fixing

Some bays can use ceiling brackets within the window and wall brackets on straight returns outside the bay.

Wave curtain clearance around a bay window
Allow room for the folds

Wave curtains need space to move

Wave curtains fold backwards and forwards beneath the track. That means they need more clearance than a conventional curtain hanging in front of a track.

The track needs to sit far enough away from window handles, sills and other obstructions for those folds to travel freely.

The measuring and ordering process will help you establish the correct position for your track.

Curtain compatibility

You will need curtains made for Wave heading

The linked gliders control the spacing of the folds, but your curtains also need the correct Wave heading and hook arrangement to produce the finished effect.

Wave heading

Your curtains should be made with suitable Wave heading tape and hooks positioned correctly for the system.

Existing Wave curtains

If you already have Wave curtains, make sure their heading and spacing are compatible with the 60mm or 80mm system you select.

Ordinary curtain headings

Pencil pleat, pinch pleat, eyelet and other conventional headings do not become Wave curtains simply by hanging them on Wave gliders.

Before you order

A few common questions

Do I need to bend the track myself?

No. The track is shaped to your bay measurements before we send it to you.

What is the difference between Slimline Wave and Regular Wave?

Both use the same Wave principle. The Slimline version has a smaller, more discreet track profile. If track appearance is not particularly important, the Regular Wave Track is our usual all-round choice.

Should I choose 60mm or 80mm Wave?

Choose 80mm for broader, deeper folds or 60mm for a tighter, more compact Wave appearance. Both work in the same way.

Can I use lined or blackout Wave curtains?

Yes. The Slimline Wave Track can be used with the type of lined and blackout Wave curtains normally found in domestic bay windows. The appropriate glider option can be selected for heavier curtains.

Can I wall or ceiling fix the track?

Yes. Both options are available. Ceiling fixing usually gives the most discreet appearance with the Slimline profile.

What if I am unsure which Wave track I need?

Start with the Regular Wave Track if you simply want a dependable Wave system. Choose Slimline when a smaller, less visible profile is important.
