Introduction to Ordering Bay Window Curtain Tracks

Hi, I'm Lee Stevens from Ezecurtains.co.uk, and it's so easy to order a bay window curtain track to fit your window perfectly on this website. So what you need to do is you need to just get the total width of your bay. So if your track's within the bay only, you just measure around all the sides within the bay.

Measuring Your Bay Window

Enter that total figure into the box. If it's returning out of the bay, then start your measuring from out of the bay, within the bay, and out the other side. Enter that in the box. The next step is how is it going to fix?

Choosing the Fixing Method

To the ceiling, to the wall, combination of both? Click the one that you think that suits your bay window and how you think your track's gonna fit. The third one is a dropdown menu for your bay shape. Now, click on the items on there.

Selecting Your Bay Shape

It'll open a little image to show you the bay shape. If it doesn't look like your bay shape, then click on another one until you find the one that you think looks closest to your bay shape. Then there are a few other items underneath that you'll click on. Finally, at the bottom of the form, you'll enter your personal details and you'll make payment.

Finalizing Your Order Details

You'll receive an email, which will then have a link in it taking you through to the final measuring page. This is the second part of the process, and this is where you'll give us all the exact angles and sizes for each side of the bay. We can work out how to make your track to fit perfectly. So that's it.

Customer Support and Assistance

Have any questions as you move along through the process? Then please just get in touch and ask us, and we'll help you through.

track width

Step 1

The size you enter in the "Track Size" box. Is the size you get by measuring around all the sides of your bay where the track is going to fit.

So if the track is only fitting within the bay. Then measure from either the front edges of your window sill. Also, maybe any small walls on each side within the bay. This is if your curtains are hanging longer than the window sill.

If you are hanging curtains that hang down to the sill and not past. Then you will be measuring across the window frames. Also, maybe the little side walls to where the sill finishes.

Don't worry about getting this size super accurate. Within 2 or 3cm is absolutely fine at this point.

bay track fit

Step 2

From the "track fixing to?" menu. Pick the one that you think represents the way your track is going to fit.

If your bay track is going to only fit to the ceiling whin the bay. Then select option 1.

If your bay track is going to fit to the wall over the window within the bay only. Then select option 3.

If your track is going to fit to the ceiling within the bay. Then to walls outside the bay on each side. Then select option 2.

If your track is going to fit to the walls over the window within the bay and on the returns out of the bay on each side. Then select option 4.

Finally, if your track is going to be ceiling fixed within the bay and on the returns out of the bay on each side. Then select option 5.

If unsure then select the option you think is correct. Then when you place your order (with a bay photo). I always review the order to make sure the correct option has been selected. If not I will get in touch to explain the better option.

bay track shape

Step 3

Pick the one that looks closest to the shape of your bay.

Again when I look at your bay photo with your order. I will make sure you have chosen the correct shape. If you chosen bay shape is not correct. then I will get in touch and suggest we amend this.

bay track brackets

Step 4

This is where you will order extra brackets if you feel you have very heavy curtains. Or possibly if you feel the wall or ceiling is not strong enough.

You can then distribute the curtain weight over more brackets.

Also, if your bay window curtain track is returning out of the bay on each side. Then fixing to the wall you will need to choose the bracket size. This is how much they project the track off the wall. Usually the 3cm or 4cm projection brackets are perfectly adequete. However, if the return sills sick out quite a bit. Then the 7cm brackets maybe a good idea. Tthis will keep the curtains hanging straight down. Nor being pushed out by the sill.

bay track centre options

However, some people just feel more comfortable ordering extra just in case they need them. For gathered curtains we allow a glider for every 4tth pocket on the curtain tape.

Then we have have the centre of the track options. You can have your bay track in one complete width. Then you can have overlapping tracks which means one curtain literally overlaps the other when closed. Then the final centre track option is to have 2 tracks simply butting together. then secured in place with the heavy duty track splice.
