Let's start with ready made curtains. Great idea when it comes to price 😁, but not so good when it comes to sizes 😒

Ready mades come in set sizes and none are good for most bay windows. The major problem is they are not wide enough. The widest ready made curtains come at 228cm.  That means each curtain panel in a pair will be 228cm wide. So once gathered ready to hang (allowing double width curtains).  They won't fit anything but the smallest of bay windows properly. 

Typical bay windows in the UK tend to be from 300cm wide to 400cm wide. That covers 80% of the bays in the UK. (I hear some of you saying my bay is much bigger) That only makes the situation worse.   So based on a typical bay window width. You would need each curtain panel to be a minimum of 300cm wide and possibly up to 400cm wide.

So what's the solution if you are staying with ready made curtains VS made to measure curtains?

Two pairs of ready made curtains will be needed to make the curtain width right.  So how do I decide which sizes I need to put together to make this work on my bay?
