Yes, we can make a curtain track to fit this style of curved bay window exactly as it should.
A Curved 7 Sided Bay (7 windows) has seven individual windows flowing continuously around the bay, with fairly shallow changes of direction between each section.
Although we describe it as a 7 sided bay, the finished curtain track is normally formed as one smooth flowing curve rather than seven straight sections with obvious bends.
This is a larger version of the more common curved 5 sided bay, and you still have the same two main choices for where the track and curtains should sit.

You Have Two Main Curtain Hanging Options
Once you know you have the Curved 7 Sided Bay (7 windows) shown on this page, the next choice is where you want the curtains to hang.
The track can either sit further back inside the bay for shorter curtains, or just in front of the window sill with returns onto the side walls for longer curtains.
Option 1 — Short Curtains Hanging Inside the Bay
The first option is to position the curtain track further back inside the bay, closer to the window frames.
The curtains then hang inside the window sill and normally finish just above the top of the sill.
This is a good option if you want shorter curtains that stay completely within the bay.
Option 2 — Longer Curtains Hanging in Front of the Window Sill
If you would prefer longer curtains, we can make the track to follow the shape of the bay just in front of the window sill.
Instead of stopping at the sides of the bay, the track then curves out at both ends and continues onto the return walls.
This allows your curtains to hang freely in front of the sill — perhaps finishing above a radiator or continuing all the way down to the floor.
The returns also bring the curtains outside the bay at each side. This helps close the gaps between the curtains and the side walls and gives you more room to stack the curtains back away from the side windows when they are open.
Why Are the Returns Important on This Style of Bay?
On this type of curved bay, the window sill will often continue a short distance around the corner and onto each return wall.
That small section of sill matters if you want longer curtains hanging in front of the bay.
If the track sits in front of the sill but simply stops at the sides of the bay, the curtains can end up hanging alongside those short sections of sill.
This can push the bottom of the curtains out slightly or make them hang awkwardly. You may also be left with a small section of sill visible beyond the edge of the curtains.
Returning the track onto the side walls allows the curtains to hang freely in front of the complete sill and then finish neatly back towards the walls.
Which Curved 7 Sided Bay Should I Choose on the Order Form?
This is where it is important to look at more than just the words 7 sided bay.
Our order form contains two different curved 7 sided bay templates:

- Curved 7 Sided Bay (5 windows)
If your bay has 7 windows flowing continuously around the curve, the option you want is:

When you select it on the order form, the matching bay shape diagram will appear above so you can check that it looks like your window before continuing.
The Two Curved 7 Sided Bays Are Different Shapes
Both bays are described as 7 sided, but the seven sides are created in completely different ways.
In the bay shown on this page, all 7 sides are windows and they flow continuously around the curve.
In the other version, only 5 sides are windows. The inward-facing wall at each end of the curved windows provides the other 2 sides.

Why Does Choosing the Correct 7 Sided Bay Shape Matter?
The bay shape you choose tells us which measurements we need and how those measurements should be used to map out your window.
The 7-window version is one continuous curved window shape, while the 5-window version includes two additional side walls.
Because the geometry is different, the same measuring template cannot accurately describe both bays.
Choosing the correct template means we can understand the real shape of your bay and make the track to follow it properly.
