Regular Wave Hand Drawn Curtain Track – Strong, Made to Measure
Quick Answer: 💡 Our wave hand drawn curtain tracks are the most popular way to hang wave curtains neatly and smoothly. Choose from 60mm or 80mm spacing gliders, with best results when ceiling fitted for maximum flexibility — though wall brackets are available if needed.
🪟 Introduction
If you’re looking for the clean, modern look of wave curtains, this is our most popular track option. Designed to work perfectly with either 60mm or 80mm wave gliders, it ensures your curtains fall in smooth, even folds every time.
While this track can be fitted to the wall with brackets, it really shines when ceiling fitted. Ceiling fitting gives you more flexibility in positioning, meaning you can hang your curtains exactly where you want them — close to the window or set further into the room.

Introduction
Hi, I’m Lee Stevens from ezecurtains.co.uk, and today I want to show you how to fit one of our straight curtain tracks. In this example, we’ll be fitting the track directly into the ceiling. These tracks are simple to install — once it arrives, just unpack it and it’s ready to go straight up.
Measuring for Clearance
On this window, the sill projects out by about 8 cm. To make sure the curtains clear the sill, I’ve made pencil marks at 10 cm out from the wall. These marks show where the back of the track should line up. I’ve put three little pencil marks across the ceiling ready for fixing.
Fixing the Track
I’ve lined the track up against the pencil marks so the back edge sits neatly on the line. From here, it’s simply a case of driving the screws through the track and into the ceiling.
Some screws will go into plasterboard, which won’t be a strong fixing, while others might hit timber joists — which is ideal. If you hit plasterboard, don’t worry; we’ll sort that in the next step.
Using Plugs for Extra Strength
If you find a screw isn’t secure, remove it and slide the track along slightly to reveal the hole. Use a 6 mm masonry drill bit to drill into the ceiling and insert one of the supplied plugs. Then slide the track back into position and drive the screw firmly into the plug.
This gives a really solid fixing that will hold securely under normal use. Repeat this wherever you’re not confident about the fixing strength.
Finishing Up
Now the track is fully fixed and secure. We’ve plugged the weaker points and ensured the track hugs the ceiling with no gaps. The gliders run smoothly from side to side, giving you perfectly working curtains.
I hope you’ve found this helpful — thanks very much for watching.
Quick Steps – Fitting a Regular Wave Ceiling Track
- Unpack your Slimline straight track – no assembly needed.
- Mark pencil lines 10 cm out from the wall to clear the sill.
- Line up the back of the track with the marks.
- Drive screws into the ceiling (joists are ideal).
- If a screw feels weak, drill a 6 mm hole, insert a plug, and refit.
- Check the gliders run smoothly – job done!
📏 Measuring & Ordering
Don’t worry if measuring feels daunting — we make it simple. Simply measure the width of your window. Then add extra room on each side of you window to allow the curtains to hang off the window when open. The total of your window width + the stack back on the walls on each side is the width you use to order.
How much room you need on each side of your window. Will depend on your window width. Usually from 15cm up to 50cm. The wider the window the more space you need to allow on each side. If unsure just ask as we’re happy to help.
Once we’ve got your measurements, we’ll make your track to size and dispatch it ready to fit.
🎬 Fitting Help
We recommend ceiling fitting for this track, but wall brackets are available if that’s your preference. Either way, the track arrives ready to install, and we provide full fitting videos so you can follow along step by step.
