Introduction to Curtain Draw Rods

So this is how most people open and close the curtains, get hold of the curtain, pull it across the window.

Same again here, pulled the curtain across the window, and then in the reverse, like so.

So what's the alternative way to doing it? So let's have a quick look.

Using a Curtain Draw Rod

The alternative is using a curtain draw rod. So, this can be attached to your track and can move your curtains backwards and forwards. So We'll have a quick look at the top here and show you how it clips on.

So we've got the clip here on the end And this clip here has a little bit of a springy opening for us to get it onto the glider on the curtain track. So let's go and have a look at clipping it on the track.

So I've unhooked the first two hooks on the curtains. We're going to actually attach the the draw rod now to the second glider in. Don't do it on the first one because otherwise the rod will hang out in view. Where we put it in on the second one, it then hangs behind the curtain. It can reach behind to move the curtains. So let's have a quick look at how the curtains operate now using the draw rods.

So we got the curtain draw rods hooked onto the glider now behind the curtain so just reach behind and then use the rod to draw the curtain across the window. And same again on the other side, like so.

Benefits of Curtain Draw Rods

And you can push them back to open them And you're avoiding having to handle the curtains, getting over time, getting dirt, grease, hand creams, anything onto the curtains. Your curtains will just last so much longer, and it just seems a shame to be spending good money on big windows like this.
