Option 1 – Wide Window Sills with Screw Eyes
Some bays have deep window sills, leaving little or no room to return the track neatly onto the side walls.
In these cases, we supply discreet screw eyes to support the last few curtain hooks.
This lets the curtains wrap around the end of the sill and onto the wall, closing gaps that would otherwise let in light.
A neat fix when there isn’t enough wall space for proper track returns.
H2: Option 2 – Shallow or No Window Sills
If your bay has a slim or no sill, the track can be ceiling fixed a few centimetres out from the window.
This creates just enough clearance for the fabric to fall freely to the floor without catching on the sill.
The curtains still hang inside the bay, but with more clearance for a smooth, vertical drop.
Works especially well for tall, full-length curtains where clean lines matter.

Ceiling fixing is the best option for this type of bay. After nearly 30 years of fitting tracks, I can reassure you that the ceiling will be more than strong enough. We also recommend a gentle curve within the bay for a neater finish, with sharper bends only on the returns at each end.

This “Top View” of the bay shows how the custom made curtain track allows for the short curtains to hang down to the top of the sill. While also (returning) curving out of the bay on the side walls. So the curtains when open can hang clear of all the windows giving maximum light into the room.
