How to Measure a Square Bay Window with Returns

How to Measure a Square Bay Window with Returns

Follow this guide to take all the measurements we need to make your bay window curtain track.

This measuring guide is for a three-sided square bay where the curtain track continues out of the bay onto the wall at both sides.

If your bay looks like the shape shown here, you’re in the right place. Get your measuring template ready and I’ll take you through each measurement one at a time.

Before You Start Measuring

First, get something ready to record your measurements on. Our printable template is the easiest option, but you can also draw your own if you don’t have a printer.

Now Measure Your Square Bay Window

Have your measuring template, tape measure and pen ready.

The red letters in the video show the measuring points around your bay. I’ll take you through each measurement one at a time, with the arrow on screen showing exactly which two points to measure between.

Your Measuring Is Complete

Now you’ve completed your measurements and written them on your template, take a clear photo or scan of it now.

Keep the image handy. When you place your order, you can simply upload it to the order form when asked.

You won’t need to type all those measurements into the form again.
